I am just thinking to change from ADSL to Chello because of 1GB transfer volume limit. 1 GB is not enough for a high speed internet connection. I need more volume of data. How good is chello in 21th District ??? Has telekom got any plan to take out this 1 GB limit or increase in the near future ?

I live in the 21st District, and right now I have aonline complete because I can't stand having a quota... anyways I live in Grossfeldsiedlung (near Leopoldau, if you know where that is) and chello isn't availabe before july ..... a friend of mine lives in Rennbahnweg in the 22nd district (not far from me); he has chello and during the day the speeds mostly suck.... well it depends on the days... sometimes he gets about 8 kbytes/second, sometimes max. 15 during the day
well there are some good days where he downloads at 30-35 kbytes/sec. and during the night he always downloads at 30-37kbytes/sec.

I got chello last Friday and it works fine.
well sometimes it is slow but for the price its ok. Oh i dont know if you know but in a few month the chello speed will be increased to 512k download and 128k upload

you live in Großfeldsiedlung and you already have chello? ;( in which street do you live? I live in the Jerusalemgasse, in a house... and you live in a flat, right? Because I'm sure that chello's always available in flats before houses ;(

P.S.: no it will be double, not 512k but 600k that's why I want chello.... ADSL sucks badly and the upload speed isn't constant... but the downloads rule (I tested it at a friend's who lives in the 22nd district).... but the 1 GB per month quota sucks

Was ist der Unterschied zwischen ADSL und Internetzugang via Kabel?

ADSL-Modems bieten eine Anbindung über eine einzelne Telefonleitung. Kabelmodems hingegen setzen auf einem von mehreren Usern benutzten System von Leitungen auf. Die Bandbreite wird somit von allen geteilt. Dies bedeutet, dass die Bandbreite, die dem einzelnen User zur Verfügung steht, stark variiert. Der größte Unterschied zwischen ADSL und einem Kabelzugang ist jedoch der Netzausbau. ADSL setzt auf den herkömmlichen Kupferleitungen auf und kann somit einem großen Teil der Bevölkerung zugänglich gemacht werden. Der Ausbau des für einen Kabelzugang notwendigen Glasfasernetzes hingegen geht nur langsam voran.
So ist es nun mal Leider, auch wenn die Bandbreite auf 512k download und 128k
upload erhöht werden sollte, ist halt das Problem des Teilens der Leitung immer noch da.

Nur bei Adsl is das Volumen nervig. Bin aber sicher das es da bald eine Änderung geben wird.
So nebenbei wohn ich tatsächlich in einer Wohnung..

Da hast Du recht, die Beschränkung auf 1GB pro Monat ist eine Frechheit.
Übrigens soll bei der TA auch schon seit längerem ein xDSL Feldversuch stattfinden, mit 2Mbits/sec im downstream und 512Kbits/sec im upstream.
Genauere Angaben kann ich Dir aber nicht geben. ( ob es ein Gerücht ist oder nicht )

deswegen will ich chello... Laut Telekabel kann ich es nächste Woche bestellen...
